Christina Rockwell’s speaker was Dia Nichols, the CEO of John Randolph Hospital since 2009. Mr. Nichols is also a Rotaraian in the Brandermill Club. He gave a PowerPoint presentation about the John Randolph Hospital, discussing new services, facilities, and personnel. Mr. Nichols stated that there still exists a popular perception that John Randolph is fine for minor procedures but that anything serious needs to be done up in Richmond. In response to this viewpoint, Nichols pointed out that JRH has the highest quality of care statistics in the Richmond area, and argued that local area physicians need to be more supportive in terms of referring patients to JRH for major procedures.
