New Member Induction

(New Member Name), welcome into the Rotary Club of Hopewell.

You are joining over 1.2 million Rotarians in 165 countries who have made a commitment to their local and National communities, and to International service.  Our motto is ‘Service above self’. 

The Hopewell Rotary Club seeks ways to serve the Hopewell community.  We provide annual scholarships to high school seniors.  We provide dictionaries to all Hopewell Third Graders and their teachers.  We help build wheelchair ramps for needy families.  And we have raised and given $3000. to help desperate families visiting their wounded military members at the VA Center.   And this year we are again planning to package a 10,000 meal food project to feed the hungry in South America, Haiti and East Africa.

Rotary International is one of the largest charities in the world.  It has contributed over $1.8 billion to suffering people around the world.  Today it contributes over $100 million every year to eradicate polio, to feed and educate the poor, to build bridges and drill wells, and provide many opportunities for Rotary volunteers to go to other countries to study or help others in need.   34,000 Rotary Clubs like Hopewell develop service projects and help create a better world.

You and all other Rotarians are the most valuable assets of Rotary. 

We ask you to join us and help in our efforts to serve others.  To be a member of the club you are expected to work in our service projects: Next month we expect you to help us one morning to pass out Dictionaries to Hopewell 3^rd graders.  On Nov 4^th  we expect you to work with all club members in our Club’s new Fall Seafood Bash, to attend our weekly meetings; and to pay club dues.  Most of all we ask that you add your commitment to service to make our club more successful in serving others.
